At this point, if I were in your shoes, I would ask corporate counsel to send a letter and have all future correspondence handled through counsel, but that is of course assuming you have an attorney. No matter because I am willing to wager they definitely do not because no attorney worth his salt would let his clients respond like they have, knowing full well that it would cause more problems for them if they did want to go after you.

Usually the ones screaming they will sue are the ones that won't, can't, couldn't sue regardless. Just tell him to have his counsel conduct any further correspondences on the matter.
