I saw this on Facebook, a friend of mine commented on the status... thought it was a joke but doing the math, wish I would have thought of this
Said he bought two iPhone 5s Gold and Silver models early Friday morning online, then sold them on eBay for an average of $950... then went into a store and bought one for himself and cost him $0.
That got me thinking...
On VZ and AT&T, you can add 5 new lines on a shared plan:
iPhone 5s 32GB @ $299 x5 = $1,495
Cancel fee of $350 each = $1,750
Avg. Sale price of $950 on eBay = $4,750
Net profit is $1,505!
It's a bit of a risk, but I'm not sure if you need to pay the "activation fee" which is $36 per line on VZ, but even still, that takes your profit to $1,325.
I checked Friday late in the afternoon and some were selling for over $1,500 EACH on eBay... WTF?!?! I read earlier today that one person paid over $2,300 for a Gold iPhone

I'm an Apple fan boy, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay more than retail.
Seems to be the big thing, buy the phone, cancel the contract and sell it ASAP. I wonder if the big carriers will implement something in the next few months to counteract that. They did at AT&T years ago with the iPhone 4, they changed to a $325 EFT.
Next time, I'll open a family plan at every carrier
