Sorry for your loss L-Pink...I had to put down my Beagle named Stanley last year when he started having trouble breathing and heart problems...I went through thousands of dollars trying to save my best companion's life but there wasn't anything I could do and I felt terrible.
I have my dog's ashes in a little box that I keep on a mini shrine in the living room, it's got his favorite stuffed animals and a butterfinger (because on Halloween he ended up getting into the candy bag and woofed down some butterfingers
).
So I feel for you man...dogs really are a man's best friend!
