I have a Thinkpad that's very similar. That fucker has never given me a minute of trouble but it has been replaced twice by newer and flashier laptops that I ended up hating (an Asus and a Macbook). I started thinking about another laptop again so I just upgraded the RAM and threw in an SSD and the Thinkpad kicks ass again.
I bought it for $120 on Craigslist a long time ago.
I'm also sitting in a cheap, ugly chair that has my butt groove permanently stamped into the cushion but it's lots more comfortable than the "pretty" office chair I have at my main desk...a chair that I paid about 6x more for.
