So to think that Mike South just decided out of thin air to "obsess" over Manwin is bullshit.
I can assure you that there are hundreds, if not thousands of content producers who HATE that fucking company and every pirate site out there that has cost so many people a large chunk of their livelihoods.
I hope you enjoy your Mac. It was bought in part by the hard work of honest content producers who never saw a thin dime from Manwin/Mansef making money off the hard work that those content producers did.
Fuck...sometimes this place is just downright fucked up.
Everybody cheering about this great "success" story. Only...the guy who is your hero didn't do anything for this success but help cripple the industry and then buy the crippled companies for pennies on the dollar.
And keep in mind that sites like Pornhub have also helped to decimate the affiliate business model. How many folks had to walk away from adult because of that? How many people were making good money as affiliates and had plans for their children (college, etc) only to find that is all over?
You think that's admirable? I don't.
Would I like to have that same amount of money? Hell yes.
Would I do the same thing if it meant that I could take care of my family for life? Hell yes.
Would I be wrong to do that? Hell yes.

I always wonder why you don't have a longer view here since you go way back. The truth is that back in the day CE and CEN etc. also benefited hugely from content that was not exactly in their rights to use and tgp, lists, etc. all were rife with misappropriated content... and people made the exact same arguments then about the death of industry, free content, blah blah blah. Back then, the go-to adage was "Content doesn't matter, traffic is king" and that belief opened the door to widespread abuse of rights.
The fact is that your involvement in AL4A or whatever meant you were part of that same content theft apparatus that you now chide Manwin over. I think only when you became a content producer - targeting a niche you knew from your experience would sell - did you start to see things from that ownership/authorship side of the fence.
