Getting burned always sucks. But posting this thread was a very bad idea. You just admitted to a possible crime, possible defamation, possible damages.. and all he's gotta do is google his domain and this thread will pop up.
The professional way to handle it would have been small claims court.. or whatever they have in your jurisdiction.
