For me it really depends on the girl, the tattoo and where it is. For example. I saw this girl in the store once who was attractive and was wearing one of those spaghetti strap tank top tops. On her chest above her boobs she had this horrid tattoo of two zombie looking creatures with their tongues intertwined and tentacles coming out of their skulls. It was nasty and to me really detracted from her.
On the other hand it can be hot. My girlfriend has a full back tattoo, but it is very good and it fits her perfectly. To me she is even hotter with the tattoo.
