^^ will solve most of your issues I bet. But if not.. do what it takes to open the file through multiple menus you are describing and save a new file as described in my initial reply in this post.

Known problem, and last time I just couldn't resolve it, even after following the huge procedure as laid out on microsoft's site (which I now can't find thanks to google getting shittier by the day).
Will have a butcher's in a sec at that link, sounds like it's on the right track though, because I *really* don't want to have to dick about copying file contents to a new file in the same format, saving as name_new, deleting the old file, and renaming again to name.extension. Obviously if I absolutely have to, then I have to.
post #5 in that thread highlights the steps needed to not only find, but guess at what to do, if you can even find the menu/submenu(s) to adjust, which aren't intuitive, and gives a solution regarding that ultimate windows tweaker. I was hoping someone here would have experienced the exact same issue, and experienced the fix
