Here's something I've always wondered: how in the world does the industry compete with "free?" Are there lessons for any other "creative" industries whose intellectual property is their most valuable asset and concerned that the free versions will replace their paid-for market?

I am a massive Deadhead and I learned about the power of "free" content from that experience, where people freely traded bootlegs of the lives concerts, and with the bands consent. I recommend reading "Grateful Dead Marketing" which you can find on Ebay etc. Homegrown survives and thrives in the era of free porn by harnessing many of the grassroots, sharing, community lessons I learned by selling tie dye t shirts in the greatest parking lots this great country has to offer.
Love the business model!!! Man,I know we have crossed paths at one lot or another....My wife and I love your work and enjoy the updates. You are fielding some great questions in there.
