heh.. Nespresso is considered what people who don't know good coffee is drink here. They sell Nespresso compatible machines for $89 near the check out lines of discount supermarkets.

I bought one for the office though a few years back when they weren't cheap after the coffee place we went to changed hands and became inconsistent and because we bought everyone in the office coffee on Mondays as a little thank you, ~$1 per Nespresso was a lot better than $4 a cup from the cafe.
I wouldn't have done it if we lived somewhere with truly great coffee like Melbourne, but it certainly competes with the coffee in my little hick town.

They're actually surprisingly good when made properly or with the right machine. Ours doesn't make them as well as my uncle's which has a separate milk frother/warmer - ours is an all in one system that makes it a bit meh even though it's more convenient.

Yuppies here have 2-5k espresso machines with their own grinders and tampers.
