Al-Qaeda (/ælˈkaɪdə/ al-ky-də; Arabic: القاعدة al-qāʿidah, Arabic: [ælqɑːʕɪdɐ], translation: "The Base" and alternatively spelled al-Qaida and sometimes al-Qa'ida) is a global militant Islamist organization founded by Osama bin Laden in Peshawar, Pakistan,[15] at some point between August 1988[16] and late 1989,[17] with its origins being traceable to the Soviet War in Afghanistan.
Mujahideen was still in effect in 1992 Mujahideen forces caused serious casualties to the Soviet forces, and made the war very costly for the Soviet Union. In 1989, the Soviet Union withdrew its forces from Afghanistan. Many districts and cities then fell to the mujahideen; in 1992 the DRA's last president, Mohammad Najibullah, was overthrown.
Seems your dates are a little fucked up, maybe check the internet connection to your van?

What dates are fucked up? You just proved what I said.. It even says right there in your post, that they started during the war in Afghan in 88-89. The soviets completed their pull out in 89, which is what I said. Do you think the guns the US had given them as well as the training and funding just suddenly vanished into thin air?
