I didn't say it shouldn't be covered, but look at the Boston bombing. It was wall-to-wall coverage for days, Boston was locked down - and for what? Two brothers killed 3 people?
Terrorism gets a disproportionate amount of media coverage for many reasons - certainly people are "fascinated" by such stories. And in my opinion, at least in the US, the government LOVES the coverage, because then they can pass items like "The Patriot Act" and the majority of citizens go along with it - because it's for "security". When in fact you're more likely to be killed by a dog in the US than by a terrorist.
