From what I understand, it's like the next step in the evolution of QR codes.
Backstory: I do the website, graphics for print ads, and the photo/video needs for a martial arts school my son attends and wife works at.
The school owner hired a woman to handle external marketing, and since she's been on staff, she's been obsessing over us setting up this Layar thing. For those who don't know, using the Layar app, you can scan over a print ad or photo of something, and if set up, you can see videos, extra photos and more details about the company, without having to actually go to the website.
While it sounds like a novel idea, I've heard absolutely 0 other people talking about this Layar app. She keeps insisting we'll be in on the ground floor and it will be huge, but she's been on this shit since August 2013. I'm feeling like if it was going to take off, it would have by now (unless it has and I live under a rock).
So I was just curious if anyone has used it, either as a consumer or for marketing purposes, and whether I should shoot and edit some videos for it, or if it's a waste of my time.
