It would be cool to have a social media site where you could only see profiles of people who were within close proximity to you, but not necessarily your friends. If you were at a party or a bar for example you could scan the list and see who's single, who's interested in similar things as you, etc. and you wouldn't be distracted by people who couldn't be bothered to show up.

It would only work if participation was extremely high, so no way to get it going unless its done by the NSA.
