I tested it on one site I was building few months ago. I can say that it's working. Paypal payment is working good.
Only I found that any of the dedicated webshop scripts work better than any of wordpress solution.
But that's only my opinion... If you need only simple solution with paypal and you'll not put hundreds of items in short period of time and need wordpress for rest of your site, easydigitaldownloads is solid product.
