On the other hand, I'm sure it's not his intent but this could be the most genius PR move in history. Now that you can't download it there's going to be that "exclusive club" effect. It's like when Spotify or Google+ launched as invite only. Everyone fucking HATES G+ but every single human on the planet asked their Facebook friends for an invite. Having something other people don't have makes people who do have it brag about it, as dumb as it is.

He's still serving ads to millions of addicted players so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes more today than he did yesterday. People are still sharing scores on facebook and people who snoozed are going to wish they'd been a part of it for the next week or so.

If he times it right, he could easily say he saw people requesting it and put it back up, then all those people who didn't care but were suddenly deprived are going to jump on it and he'll explode his revenue.
