I'd break its neck. Pull and twist. Used to do it to rabbits all the time. Our govt, in its infinite fucking wisdom, released myximatosis into the Aust rabbit population in an attempt to control population numbers. Needless to say it didn't fucking work but it does make them behave stupidly, eventually makes them blind. They will often turn and run off the road and then turn again and try to cross the other way right in front of your car. I don't like leaving them to die slowly so I would go back and break their necks.
