Ultimately it doesn't matter which side of the debate is correct. It happened 75 years ago and is nothing more than a useless debate at this point. Some people get too emotionally invested into it online.
One thing to consider is that if Germany hadn't locked anyone up, all of the young males who died in the holocaust would have instead been drafted into the war and slaughtered by the allied forces. Gas chambers, typhus or down the barrel of a Russian gun on the battlefield, they were going to die no matter how you look at it. Probably not the women and children, but surely the men.
