Yes it is true that Germans organized mass murder on industrial scale. Yes it is true that they murdered women and children and yed it is true that in Poland there was death penalty for pretty much anything. Whole villages disappeared. There was a chess player who was really amazing and he escaped holocaust. Not a single person he knew (200-300 people) survived.
