Imagine parallel universe - USA lost in cold war and fall apart. The USA (leftovers) got weak and somehow TX went back to Mexica (also few other states became independent).
Then, 20 years later, while there were riots in Mexica, president escaped the country, some radical Mexicans decided: "Lets' kill english speaking population(Americans, who decided to stay in TX under Mexica for some reason)!"
The USA who gained some muscles during this 20 years decided it is good chance to get TX back. Mexica has huge debt (big part of this debt to USA). Russia and Europe offers loan to Mexica(but amount of loan is so small - all this loan money will go to the USA to cover what Mexica owe).
The USA sent Black Waters and other corporate armies to protect TX population from radicals. Of course they are not Black Waters (I just use this name as example of private army, belongs to corporation) and USA deny the sent any troops. US government keep saying it is TX Guard, not the USA Army.
I see this situation like that.
