I'd try to get the picture to scale to 100% screen width, or better yet just make the thumbs fit the width of the screen when you get down into mobile phone range. As an affiliate the thing I'd want to see is some kind of persistant call to action. At desktop size you pretty much always have a link visible while on mobile you'd have to actually scroll and look for it. Stick a footer to the bottom with the link?

I just tested this out on my desktop browser so I don't know if you're doing anything to maybe handle the lightboxes or whatever different on mobile, but if you're going for a real responsive design you've probably complicated things too much if you're relying on running a different script, at least in a case as simple as a gallery.
