Who's clueless? Excess energy, regardless of the source, can be stored in BATTERIES as well as other methods such as flywheels. I'm sure you've heard of Smart Grid technology? Wind Farms generate most of their energy at night, which also happens to be when energy is used the least. To be efficient, wind energy is stored and then distributed the next day to help balance the load. Companies like Beacon Power in Massachusetts are already doing this. They use hundreds of flywheels to store up to 20 Megawatts of electricity.

If you're going to say things like this, at least say the entire thing. Ontario is paying some turbine owners not to produce electricity, at certain times of the day, because Ontario has a SURPLUS of energy and has had it since 2006. Because they have a surplus this makes them very self sufficient, which saves them over $200 Million a year. Would you like it if your state didn't have to buy electricity from elsewhere? Especially from a coal belching power plant?
