I'm not sure what or if they teach anything in UK history classes but over here the story is that, as our country was forming, our ancestors took up arms to protect themselves from YOUR Government.
One could argue that the British are responsible for the creation of our Second Amendment. You should not be expected to understand or agree with it. You're the enemy.
