But seriously, it just seems to me (Our news covers lots of US events) that the gun laws are too relaxed, and that people are afraid of losing their guns, and that the Stand your Ground Law is insane... it's just a point of view from someone outside, looking in.

Let me ask a question: Sure, everyone is allowed to own a gun, and sure, everyone here on GFY will use it to target practice or in self defence only. Everyone on GFY passes a background check, etc etc. Everyone is a law abiding citizen and you deserve to own a gun if you want one. CHECK.
So now then, why not pass a law, to keep guns out of the hands of criminals? Of crazy people? Why not make it illegal to carry a gun into a school? Or a bar? Do you not think that this is going too far? |
The 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
What part of this is unclear to you? (Any laws whatsoever restricting gun ownership are illegal and unconstitutional. "We The People" means quite a bit to us.... )
The second Amendment was deemed so important by our founding fathers that they put it second. Not fourth or tenth..... there's a reason. It's there to protect the first Amendment and all the others from
