Don't need signs, pretty obvious when...
1)Groups of black dudes on the corner selling drugs
2)Houses all run down looking
3)Nothing but liquor stores, gas stations and chicken
4)Trash all over the street

Is true, gangbangers taking out other gangbangers mainly over drug turf in isolated areas.
Little kid sees his brother standing on the corner making loot so when he grows up the vicious cycle continues. You would think that maybe a few would throw their drug profits into building some form of entertainment/business so the next generation of kids would have something to do or somewhere to work instead of slinging but it doesn't happen. Sell drugs, raise the kids to follow in their footsteps, join a gang, get a criminal record, collect your public aid, rinse and repeat.
