I have spent months in the Philippines (Cubi Pt/Subic and Olongapo City back in the day, and Angeles City and Manila after that) - lovely place, but I would never do anything which could land me in jail there (the same is true for Thailand, Japan, Korea, etc).

My motto, enjoy life and everything for what it is in Asia, but don't gamble with your life.
