because somehow, the hiring is proofs that the big bad USA is behind the shit there + it's an opp for people to point their fingers at America(ns), i.e., that American accepted a job offer while Ukrainians are killing each other, bad American. Nevermind the Ukrainians that hired him and especially the ones out there killing each other, because they are all good people that would never do such things if it weren't for big bad Americans.
