True, I'm also from EU. However, I would be really surprised if you can legally continue running a company in USA while it is in suspended mode.

This has actually happened to me more than once, running a handful of LLC's and moving around a lot, things get lost in the shuffle.
The "agent" is usually a registered agent service used by people who want to incorporate for whatever reason in a place they have no physical presence. The service costs around $99/year and all it does is forward any government communications. If you don't pay then it would show as "resigned".
The same with a company "suspended" status, that usually means a report or tax was not submitted, and yes, you can continue to run your business no problem, the only time it comes up for review, in my experience is if you try to get new merchant processing in that jurisdiction. This is how I found out it happened to me.
As much as it would tickle me to learn that they were done, this does not indicate that. All it indicates is the usual sloppiness, incompetence, inattention to detail and failure to pay on time that has become Zombaio's trademark.
