We got there and sat at our table. I looked at the menu, damn it was kind of expensive and I didnt see this date really going anywhere. Told her I had to go to the restroom, got up, went to my car, and since I was already dressed I went to meet some of my friends at the bar.
I wonder how long she waited for me to come back from the restroom? Thank god this was before cellphones.

A friend of mine who used to be a waiter tells a story about a girl who was abandoned by her date at the restaurant he worked at. They came in, ordered food, ate, ordered dessert and ate it then ordered coffee. As he was bringing them coffee the guy excused himself to the bathroom, went to his car and left her there with the check. He said once she realized they wanted her to pay the bill she broke down sobbing. She was in her early 20's but had no money or credit cards on her. She had to call her parents and they came and got her and paid the bill.
