Speaking as a fan...

The first Transformers was a spectacular film. Stunning, stunning, stunning visual effects. I saw it in theatres once when it originally came out, and again when it was re released in imax. I've watched it many more times on TV. The humour was perfect. And OMG - That shot - that shot - with the robot shooting its rockets over the big-tit girl, screaming, in slow motion. What a moneyshot. Amazing. Fantastic. Wow. Just a fantastic movie.

The second Transformers was just no fun. The cutsie wise-cracking robots were just plain insulting and groan-generating. The story was dull, the action was so so. The use of combination 2.35:1 and iMax was well done and the fight in the forest was a new level in visual effects that topped even the first Transformers.

The third, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, was EXCELLENT. I don't know if its better than T1 but its at least just as good. All the actors clearly had a great time making this movie, and so did the cameos. Witwikki's new girlfriend was beautiful and a better actress than Megan Fox. The cool conspiracy theories (Chernobyl, the moon landings.. Nasa... )... the Humour! WOW! So funny, and so well done. And of course, the visual effects again, hit new heights: The distruction of Chicago.... The skyscraper scene... and of course, the FLYING WINGMEN - WOW!!!!! That wasn't CG - That was really shot live - those wingmen really did fly through Chicago. COME FUCKING ON that was incredible. Just. wow...

I didn't see #4 yet but will go this week. I hope it's as good as 1 or 3, and hope it doesn't suck donkey balls like #1.

So Bay got cold feet doing a sales pitch for a new TV. So he has lots of 'splosions in his movies. So what. The guy really, really knows how to make some kick ass movies. If you're bored and want something new, consider watch THE ISLAND (one of my favourites) or PAIN AND GAIN which was also pretty decent.
