There's a Volt in the new Transformers movie and - you're right, it doesn't transform. sigh. But if it did, it would have been the coolest ever!

Not at all. Movies today are just as good as they ever were. I *LOVE* going to the movies. Big screen, Big Sound, Big Popcorn.. a fun few hours. You don't have to go see the big budget explosion-rests if you're not into them - there's all kinds out there.
Anyway speaking of Transformers 4, I just came back from it. Surprise!! It is actually very good. It's darker than the others, and a couple of scenes must be disturbing to young kids. The story is smart, and of course yet again, they amped up the visual effects to an insane new level. The 'bots now have more detail if you can believe that. And it's just a guess, but it kind of looks like they were experimenting with some new lighting techniques.
The movie is L O N G at 2 hours and 45 freakin' minutes but it all works. They take their time to introduce all the new characters which makes you care about them later on. Marky Mark is great, and so is everyone else - with Kelsey Gramar as a villain. Cool! Oh and of course, lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of 'splosions....
Anyway, if you like the Transformers movies, you'll like this one. If you don't, you won't.
