The argument didn’t entirely make sense given that reform could kick in after Obama leaves and, in any event, Obama without congressional action would continue to act unilaterally and cast the Republicans as anti-immigrant.
That changed when thousands rushed to our border, including flocks of unaccompanied minors. A GOP senior aide remarked to me, “I think it is fair to say that his executive order on DREAM-ers is partially if not fully responsible for the current humanitarian crisis.” The aide contends Obama’s announcement that he will shift resources to the border “is largely a ruse to give him more space for executive action to ease up on the deportations, which again is only going to make the problem worse and not better.”

God, you are so full of shit. All congress (The republican ruled House) wants to do is get through the midterms without taking any political risks -- especially immigration reform. So don't act like John Boehner wants to do anything. What has he gotten passed? Anything of note? Anything that helps the middle class? The current congress has done next to nothing since its inception, and that's a fact. Obama just welcomed them to do SOMETHING in a speech yesterday. They still won't do anything except try to obstruct -- or sue, which is ridiculous since Obama has passed less executive orders than any other president. Those Republicans in congress are ruled by the Tea Party and are lazy shitbirds.
It's obvious you get all of your information from vitriolic opinion pieces on conservative rags. Did anything in Obama's recent speech say he didn't want to work with Congress? Did you even watch it?
