Gotta admit I don't like the "clubs" on the strip.
My idea of a nightclub is somewhere you go and you get good service, entertainment, and a comfortable but at the same time "crazy" fun atmosphere.
If you go to a club like Hakkasan or any of the other ones like it...you wait in line (for no apparent reason other than to make it "feel" like a privilege to get in). That pretty much stops me right there. When we go out and are all dressed up, I'm ready to have a drink. Not stand in line for an hour.
Then when you FINALLY get inside (unless you pay the bouncers $50 and get in quicker), you find that you can't even sit down...unless you have "table service". Which is their way of charging you hundreds of dollars for something that should be standard practice: you know tables and chairs like there have ALWAYS been in nightclubs.
Then you try to get a drink...good luck! The bars are TINY and packed 10 people deep trying to get a drink. HORRIBLE service (again...unless you want to drop hundreds of dollars for "table service")
Then you finally order your drink...to find out it's $14 for a screwdriver! WTF!?!?!?
So now you struggle out from the bar with your drink in a plastic cup, and nowhere to sit and enjoy it for a moment.
Oh well...what about the great entertainment?
Hope you love EDM droning music. Cause that's pretty much what you get. And the only visual entertainment is flashing lights. Woopty-doo.
I know it's the big fad for the last ten years or so. But what the fuck do people get out of that?
I'd rather hit a club with real LIVE entertainment and be able to sit at the bar or a table and order a drink when I want it and how I want it (you know with REAL bartenders who know how to make specialty drinks).
It sucks that the current environment isn't more conducive to live bands and entertainers and real bars and clubs.
But these "clubs" here in Vegas are packing them in. So I guess people must enjoy being treated like crap when they go out (unless they pay through the nose to be treated like you would normally in a real club, minus the real bartenders and live entertainment of course).
