Then let's start basing unemployment figures on the "actual" rate.

We've always based unemployment figures in the same exact way and I am wondering why we are suddenly discussing this new "actual" rate. Why didn't we discuss this back in 2008, 2009, and 2010 when unemployment was at it's high point? What was the "actual" rate at the high point?

At the same time, is the "actual" rate the real rate? How can that be? I have a friend of mine who has been unemployed for over a decade - he isn't looking for a job so why should we count him as unemployed?

I thought this when I first read the article this morning on the crapper. Nearly half of the American public voted for Romney, so let's just say roughly half of you dislike Obama so that's why you are all about "this isn't the real figure". Me, I'm an optimist. I want things to get better. I could care less what bitch is int he Oval Office, I just want things to get better.

And I want to believe unemployment is falling.
