The good old incandescent light bulb produces a lot of heat so without them won't we end up using more gas/oil to heat our homes?

If the reason for the change is using less electricity thus saving us money then all good but if we end up saving nothing because they jack up rates and these new bulbs don't promise what they deliver then once again the government and big business have made idiots of us.

We are Charlie Brown running towards that football over and over somehow expecting a different result the next time.
