I agree. The bans are smart. The video is dumb.

The ban on electric bulbs is a great idea, but an extra tax on the bulbs would have been acceptable maybe.

I have replaced all of the lights in my home office with LED lights. Light bulbs are inefficient because alot of the power they use is lost to heat. Halogen lights look great but they too waste a ton of energy. Those pigtail florescent lights were a TERRIBLE idea because the light they produced had bad color, weren't bright enough, and contained mercury. The LED lights I have now are BRIGHT and WHITE and stay nice and cool. Best of all, they use about a tenth of the energy that bulbs use. They used to be rather expensive at about $25 a bulb but the home depot near me now sell them at about $14. In a year or so they might be under $5 hopefully.
