I didn't say solar was "bad". I said it's not a viable source of power for the world.
0.23% energy production for the U.S. = Fantasy energy source. Certainly not a challenger of any kind.
If the U.S. is only producing .23%, do you honestly expect to see some country like Nigeria or Guatemala operating on 100% solar? Where are you going to build all the massive solar farms needed to power the US? Well, there's land in the midwest.... maybe we don't need farming. What happens when a hurricane, tornado, or hail storm destroys a solar farm? How are you going to power jets, helicopters, trains, aircraft carriers, submarines, container ships, billions of cars, factories, military machinery.... with solar panels?
Right now, I pay $25 per month to power my home. No other investment required.
When solar can power my home cheaper than what I'm paying now, then I'll get on board. Until then, no thanks.
