I read the book several years ago and it starts off strong then it gets to a point where the human in the computer basically has control of the world's nuclear weapons and is holding the world hostage. It has a very anti-climactic ending when he decides not to do anything after his girlfriend talks him out of it.

As for good computer movies. I haven't seen any movies like that recently, but if you like tech TV shows the HBO show Silicon Valley is great and the AMC show Halt and Catch Fire is pretty good.
