I am basing this on my own and closer coleagues/partners ratios. Maybe we all just suck, however it would be against the odds (5-6 people promoting different sponsors and different techniques all getting "not common" ratios).

Also note that I mentioned "unless you channel/filter + pre sell well". It is always possible to lower the ratios and get higher per click earning, but that would not be entirely accurate comparison. You can get 10.000 hits to your site, send 7.000 to sponsor and get 2 sales. You can also get 10.000 hits and with another preselling technique send 4.000 to the site and get the same 2 sales. Ratios would be 1:3.5K versus 1:2K, however bottom line would be the same.
Of course you can also get 3 sales instead of 2 with the second method. And vice versa.
point is that ratios and EPC is not everything and can wary depending on your preselling style. Some send most of the hits to the sponsor in hope that sponsor would sell them, some like to send only "presold" hits, making the ratios way better. Not necessary bottom line would be better though.
That is why ratios is not completely accurate comparison when you have different styles of preselling.
