Lets compare donations before this bucket thing and after. Then decide. If donations raised then probably not pointless. And I am sure they are higher by 100s of percents at least. So my conclusion would be not pointless
Plus now everybody know about it. It may be stupid, but its not like people aren't wasting their time on stupid things anyway. Reality TV, Bieber etc.
