I'm shocked for 2 reasons - one, wehateporn posted a legitimate news story and two, how can this not have been foreseen and action taken long ago?

We have oil pipelines - why couldn't there be water pipelines from say the Great Lakes? Ever seen the incredible aqueduct system the Romans built 2,000 years ago?

Israel desalinates sea water - the US can too. Expensive or not, humans need water.
