In the Chinese culture the number 8 is the number of fortune. It's the same for allot of Asian countries so also for Malaysia. I would suggest you give either 888RM, 1080RM, 1088RM or some number with allot of 8's in it.
They will really appreciate it, certainly from someone they don't expect it.
