There is also another issue at play.. It's also been shown the local law enforcement are running their own towers that are used to collect meta data of all phones that connect to it. Basically they don't have access to your calls but they know when and where you were at x time if your phone connected to any of these towers.

These towers are called stingray and they are developed in my home town in FL by Harris corp.. Ironically Harris corp also developed the first radar guns.

Between cop cars that track license plates, fake cell towers, it's becoming next to impossible to stay anonymous.. Now with the fed govt doing it as well, you can pretty much assume you have zero privacy with any cellular electronic device that connect to a network.
