We shouldn't be farming in places that can't sustain the crops from mostly natural rainfall. It's not even just crops, in the middle of West Texas I saw miles and miles of shrimp and crawdad farms where they build up berms and flood the area with water to farm them.

I also saw miles and miles of dried up farm land with no water to irrigate it, because all the local water sources were dried up and I'm sure there is a lot more to come of that.. (saw countless rivers and lakes that show on Google maps that were bones dry)

Granted we have to farm but we should be doing it where there isn't a need to irrigate constantly due to the area not being fit to grow crops.
A farm without irrigation. Ahaha.
