Extend the 2 things above - telling the traffic broker is not enough. Within each traffic broker you can select the site and spot, also if banner one can use different image banner - and results are very different. I seen very good exo/juicyads/eroads/etc. campaign and some bad exo/juicyads/eroads/etc. campaigns.. was both in same broker, but over different sites and banners... that's called "media buying", a science on its own.
Thanks for being honest about it. Some try to pretend they don't do this. I think it's fine as long as you don't try to cut out the affiliate. For instance I've seen people complain that they thought they were being shaved right after they disclosed the source and in one case they claimed to have even found that the program started buying the traffic as soon as they dropped it.

Paying for traffic isn't my game so I'm only going by what I have read. That is part of the reason why it isn't my game. It's too easy to play games. I'd want to have my own program before I even thought about it. Without that you have so little control.
