It's okay for Reddit to make money off of stolen content but the moment anyone else submits a link that has a 'tiny' ad somewhere on the page (even if the content is highly relevant) to a subreddit, they drop the BAN hammer and create new subreddit rules to stop those 'horrible' spammers.

Google, Youtube, FB, Reddit, Tumblr ... all profit from other people's content yet look down on anyone who wants to also make money.
As I understand, most subreddits (if not all) aren't run by employees but rather mods who just do it for fun, and many people that choose to be mods for fun usually do it because they enjoy the power trip.
