If Putin was a bad ass and wasn't worried about being punished, he would of taken all of Ukraine in the first few weeks not just the military base.

Russia could of rolled over Ukraine at the start and there would of been nothing NATO could of done about it, but he wasted some much time trying playing that he lost his opportunity. Now Russia has yet another enemy at it's door steps and has alienated themselves from a former ally.

Russia is doing nothing but putting themselves in check..
