Yes he is quite the strapping young stud but I have never seen any dog more terrified of coyotes. When he hears them he runs back to the door almost breaking it down.
It is obviously an innate instinct because he has never actually seen a coyote. I took care of a Siberian Husky a few years back who would actually chase coyotes.
