He could easily be characterized as hyper-religious. I think he'd even accept that himself, though he'd put his own spin on it that would put himself in a positive light, making himself the educated and enlightened one, where all others should be so lucky as to see things how he does or achieve his level of knowledge and fulfillment etc etc.
Hyper-religiosity is a consistent feature in bi polar disorder and other manic disorders and very commonly associated with schizophrenia, OCD and other anxiety disorders and a host of neurological issues.
You're not going to successfully reason with a guy who has a broken brain.
This thread itself is a perfect example of someone who has some severe deficits in their ability to reason, practice impulse control, think things through, empathize/see things from anothers perspective or empathize in general, as his true intent is to hurt others for PERSONAL attention under the guise of doing "good". Interestingly, a lack of empathy is the hallmark trait of a psychopath (note: only a tiny % of psychopaths are violent).
He's also a bit of a megalomaniac.
Religion is fun.... You might "love God" because you believe. Or you might "love God" because your brain is severely miss-wired. But when anything we do moves beyond moderation, there are usually dark motives driving that behavior.
