He is right about the herd being thinned. To me that doesn't lead to any conclusions about how great they are though. They give the product away free (much of it stolen) which requires no marketing skills at all.
I don't see them being great at selling or at getting people to take certain actions. They make money in bulk, meaning by having big numbers of visitors.
So they lead the industry, so what. Not by being smart or creative in my opinion.
